Five years ago we started towing foilers into waves on Portugal's Alentejo coast. The formula was simple and it never changed: a jetski, a trained driver, long Atlantic walls, and more flight time in a week than most foilers get in a season.
The retreats sold out. And every single week, somewhere between the second session and the second glass of wine, a guest would ask the same question: 'this is incredible — where else in the world can I do this?'
The honest answer used to be: almost nowhere, and good luck finding the operations that do exist. Towfoiling is the smallest discipline in foiling. There are maybe fifteen operations on earth running it seriously. They don't advertise. Half of them don't even have booking pages.
So we built towfoiltrips.com — the place where you book towfoil trips. Our own Portugal weeks are the flagship. Around them, we list only operations we know personally: their drivers, their safety setup, their waves. Same price as booking direct, one deposit, one thread from first question to confirmed trip.
Curated is an overused word. Here's what it means to us: we are certified Nazaré tow drivers, and we would not list an operation we wouldn't put our own friends behind. That's the whole standard. It won't scale to a thousand listings — and that's exactly the point.
